BREAKING NEWS: Kooz trade to A’s for Scotty

Wow, I did not see this coming. The Padres have traded Kevin Kouzmanoff and minor leaguer Eric Sogard over the the A’s for former Padre Scott Hairston and young outfield prospect Aaron Cunnigham. Wow. I can’t believe it. I am still in shock. I guess this move will put Headley as an everyday 3rd baseman, and let Blanks play full-time in left. Venable will play right and Scotty will start in center, will Tony Gwynn Jr. as his backup. Kooz, you will be missed.

I’m glad that Scotty is back, though! He was one of my favorite Padres!Scott Hairston #21 of the Oakland Athletics heads for home plate after his solo home run in the first inning off a pitch by Josh Beckett of the Boston Red Sox non July 7, 2009 at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts.
Scott Hairston says that it is a dream come true for him to be back in San Diego. He said that his 4 year old son kept asking him when he was going to play for the Padres again. Scotty never said that it was going to happen, but he was wrong. It did!
I wish Kooz nothing but luck with the A’s. While this trade isn’t official yet, it more than likely will be as Cunningham is reportedly heading to San Diego to take a physical with the team. This is a very interesting trade, and it should be interesting to see how it pans out.
Go Padres!
